“Depth Two” Film Screenings in Niš, Čačak and Priština/Prishtine

Projekcija filma Dubina dvaThe documentary by Ognjen Glavonić, “Depth Two”, was screened during April in Niš, Čačak and Priština/Prishtine. Following the screenings in all of these cities, a debate about the legacy and responsibility for the crimes committed was organized. Besides the spectators, the director and the film crew, other film and theatre artists from Serbia and Kosovo also participated in these discussions.

Press Statement with Regard to the Judgement Rendered upon the Lawsuit Filed by General Diković against HLC and Nataša Kandić

The First Basic Court in Belgrade has rendered a judgement upholding in part the lawsuit filed by the Serbian Army Chief of General Staff for the compensation of damages caused by the psychological pain suffered due to the violation of his honour and reputation inflicted by the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC), who published allegedly false factual accusations in the ‘Ljubiša Diković Dossier’, and Nataša Kandić, who exposed in public allegedly false factual accusations and value judgements, which were of an offensive nature and violated human dignity. The Court granted the amount of 550,000 RSD in damages, assessing that the amount requested (1,000,000 RSD) was set too high.

Panel Discussion on Access to Information of Public Importance in Cases of War Crimes

Panel_diskusijaA meeting regarding the topic of access to information of public importance in cases of war crimes was held on April 4th, 2016, in the Library of the Humanitarian Law Center (HLC). The participants in the meeting were representatives of the Office of the Commissioner for Access to Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Balkan Investigative Network in Serbia, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, the Lawyers’ Committee for Human Rights, Partners for Democratic Change Serbia, as well as other experts.
